  • Join IFDA January 1-May 31: $350.00
  • Join IFDA June 1-September 30: $225.00
  • Join IFDA October 1-December 31: $350.00 (Membership effective from join date through December 31st of the following calendar year. For example join IFDA as a professional member on October 1, 2015 and receive membership through December 31, 2016)
Membership is based on the calendar year January 1-December 31. All memberships are effective from the join date through December 31 of the current calendar year. Membership in IFDA is retained by the individual approved for membership and is non-transferrable.

Do you need a flexible payment option for paying your IFDA membership dues?

I am a graduate of a 2 or 4 year or higher education program and I am applying for Associate Membership - $150 - within 1 year of the date of graduation.

I am a student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program: Student Membership - $45.00. Join IFDA September 1-December 31st and receive the balance of the current membership year and the next membership year of January 1-December 31st for $45.00!


NOTE TO PROSPECTIVE ASSOCIATE MEMBERS: A copy of your transcript documenting graduation within one year of submitting your application for IFDA membership must be submitted with your application. Please note that unofficial transcripts satisfy the transcript requirement.

NOTE TO STUDENTS: A copy of your current course schedule must be submitted with your application for consideration for membership. Student ID Cards will not be accepted as proof of current enrollment.

IFDA is a non-profit association. Dues are not deductible as a charitable contribution. However, they may be deductible as a business expense. Contributions to the IFDA Educational Foundation are deductible as charitable contributions.

Code of Ethics

Each member of the International Furnishings and Design Association shall conduct her/himself honorably so as to maintain the integrity of the Association. To that end, each member shall adhere to the following rules of conduct and principles guiding membership behavior:

  1. A member shall abide by the bylaws of both the International and Chapter Organizations and hold membership in the Association as a privilege and a responsibility.
  2. A member is obligated through personal and professional conduct to uphold and maintain, beyond reproach, the dignity of the Association.
  3. Only the international organization and its affiliated chapters, who must add proper chapter designation to the name, may officially use the name "International Furnishings and Design Association."
  4. A member shall not use her/his position as an officer in the Association, or his/her membership, to gain purely personal advantage in advertising, merchandising or promotion. However, a member may and is encouraged, to use the initials "IFDA" after her/his name on business stationary and business announcements.
  5. A member shall sponsor for IFDA membership; only those individuals known to have, and to practice the highest professional and ethical standards.
  6. A member shall recognize and respect the professional standards of other IFDA members and shall encourage a high level of cooperation with allied organizations.
  7. A member may not use the IFDA Directory as a mailing list for commercial or political purposes, nor permit its use by a non-member for any purpose.
  8. A member shall fully and honestly represent her/his qualifications at all times.

Adherence to these principles is the obligation of each member and any violation or misconduct that is detrimental to the best interests of the Organization shall be dealt with as provided in Article III, Section 5, of the bylaws.
